Port de Vallières
"Situated in a natural inlet protected by the craggy Vallières headland, Saint-Georges-de-Didonne was not a fishing port but a marine pilots’ port. Since the sailing boats used by the pilots disappeared in the 1920s, it has accommodated grounded pleasure craft. Consisting of a quay with a slipway and a jetty built in 1810, the port has, for several generations, been a favourite destination of people young and old, who come to catch small fish, crabs and prawns with rod and line, hand net or dip net."
